Review: Contagion

Contagion Contagion by Erin Bowman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This sci-fi horror ends on a cliff-hanger, and leaves the reader quite unsatisfied.

This was an okay read, but I never felt any real attachment to the characters, and there were just a lot of characters. Not an original sci-fi concept, but would have been better if it was planned for a single book instead of trying to create this world into a series.

Review: Ninth House

Ninth House Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, that was unexpected. But good. And gritty. And wow I don't like the characters. Yet.

Review: A Big Bed for Little Snow

A Big Bed for Little Snow A Big Bed for Little Snow by Grace Lin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A fun concept for winter snow! Grace Lin uses negative space in the same way that she does in Big Mooncake--and it is a neat effect, but now, I would like something different.

Gorgeous illustrations and verse tell the story about fry bread and its place in Native American culture. With lots of notes and information, I cannot recommend this book highly enough!
