A quick read. While the story is interesting and the writing decent, the poor,troubled student who is going to make it because of his outlet of writing as a concerned teacher helps him is so overdone and cliche. I would have preferred that this was not a confessional and that there was more development of the peripheral characters instead of the tough-boy-with-a-heart-of-gold routine. Not a bad read, but don't expect anything original. The last line is its redeemer.
