There's a Spaceship in My Tree by Robert West

There's a Spaceship in My Tree! There's a Spaceship in My Tree! by Robert West
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While this story's adventure was fun, I found the random insertion of Christian ideology to be disconcerting. I understand it is Christian fiction--which I only realized after the first discussion about finding a new church--when I saw that it was published by Zondervan. HOWEVER, the fact that this novel discusses space and dinosaurs gives me hope since so frequently Christian values tends to shy away from Science. This fact raised the book in my esteem--that these two usually conflict ideas were married so well. As far as the characters, I was a little disappointed because they felt flat and hard to really get behind. I had a hard time being enthusiastic about finishing the book. Overall, I think this novel would appeal to parents looking for novels that include Christian values but still offer the adventure stories that this age group enjoys.
