This picturebook about death took me by surprise. I was not expecting the gentle watercolored line drawings to be about a dead rabbit. I had to read it twice. As far as a story relaying death, this is excellent and the solution Rat and Dog decide upon for Flat Rabbit is very sweet and touching. However, this English translation of the title may not sit so well with most American picturebook readers.
However, I find it amusing.
