Use Your Imagination by Nicola O'Byrne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Rabbit really wants there to be rockets in his story, but Wolf doesn't like where Rabbit's imagination take him.
This fractured-esque fairy tale is another meta-fictive picturebook that is bound to get lost with all the rest. The illustrations are crisp and well-rendered in mixed media--colorful and enticing with plenty of white space. Yet, the font design is ineffective and instead of coming across as whimsical, it rather gives me a headache.
There are better "break-the-fourth-wall" books and books about books that have been published that don't feel like the genre has been exhausted. Though, admittedly, I am at a momentary loss for better examples.
