This concept book withstands multiple readings with multiple layers. At first pass, I was uncertain about it, but a second and third time through yielded "aha!" moments that were just great fun.
Lizi Boyd's detailed gouache illustrations bring a story to life where there doesn't seem to be a story. This is one of those books you just need to read and reread.
