The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
An interesting premise--in a dystopian future, in order to maintain world peace, every country's royalty provides a hostage. If the country goes to war, the hostage dies.
Unfortunately, the writing is clunky and forced, long-winded and heavy-handed in conveying messages.I gave it 6 chapters before deleting and returning my copy to Audible. The performance was good, the source material not so much.
