This spin-off series of The Parasol Protectorate: Soulless, Blameless, and Changeless series is entertaining, fun, and full of wit. Alexia's daughter, Rue is a unique and strong character. While there are definitely similarities between other of Gail Carriger's female protagonists, Rue's character and plot are different enough to feel like a new story in the same great world.
