The Boy and the Airplane by Mark Pett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm a fan of wordless picturebooks to begin with, so perhaps my review of this book will not shock anyone. Rendered in watercolor and pencil (my favorite), this picture-only story is thoughtful, sweet and timeless. If it is not in the running for a Caldecott, I will be seriously surprised. It embodies the spirit of Caldecott himself with its dynamic and expression-full illustrations.
