ABC Dream by Kim KransMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I have king held the belief that ABC books are more "art books" than "picturebooks." Often they lack a cohesive narrative, and more often than not, they merely display the same words as every other alphabet book.
Certainly, ABC Dream meets the same pitfalls, but it displays an originality in its presentation. Each page has an illustrated letter with 4 or 5 different illustrations that when named each begin with said letter of the alphabet. The images run together to weave a new story on each page.
The illustrations are gorgeous and I hope that Kim Krans illustrations many more books to come.
