Bug in a Vacuum by Mélanie Watt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bug gets vacuumed and goes through the five stages of grief.
A brilliant picturebook, rendered in mixed media, that follows a fly into a vacuum where he despairs, bargains, rages and eventually accepts his fate. The dog following the bug has a parallel story in only pictures, while the bug narrates, quite humorously and punnily, his stay in the dark.
Details fill every spread, making this a great reading experience.
