When Spring comes, the dirt sprouts, the flowers bloom and there is lots of rain.
This story is the same as every other Spring is Coming story. There is not any new ground that is covered, there isn't anything that is especially remarkable about this book...except the full acrylic illustrations.
The illustrations are gorgeous. Colorful, contained where necessary, this picturebook is technically exquisitely designed--circular in all the right ways from the end pages to the center spread. Yet, it just feels so...vanilla. Definitely a sweet seasonal story that has its place, but after Waiting, I was really hoping for something...more.
